With kind permission of Brown Bag Films, the Richard Harris International Film Festival presents a documentary premiere on the making of Angela’s Christmas. The documentary gives a wonderful behind the scenes look at the making of the family favourite Angela’s Christmas, followed by an in-depth conversation with narrator Malachy McCourt and Emmy nominated director of Angela’s Christmas Damien O’Connor. The Documentary features interviews with the voice talent and animators behind this instant classic.
Following the screening, there will be an in-depth discussion with narrator Malachy McCourt – Frank’s brother and producer of Angela’s Christmas and the director/writer Damien O’Connor from Brown Bag Films who will talk us creating this animation and creating animated films in general.

Damien O’Connor (Director/co-writer – Angela’s Christmas)

- Previously episode director on Peabody award winning Doc McStuffins for Disney Jr.
- Editor on Noddy, Olivia the Pig and The Octonauts.
- Writer/director/storyboard artist on four Irish Film Board funded shorts, Mutt, Ledog, the IFTA nominated Dick Terrapin IFTA nominated After You and Anya.
Malachy McCourt (narrator/producer – Angela’s Christmas)
Malachy McCourt was born in New York City, the son of Irish parents Angela (Sheehan) and Malachy McCourt. He was raised in Limerick, Ireland, and returned to the United States in 1952. He was portrayed by Peter Halpin in the film version of his brother’s memoir Angela’s Ashes. Malachy appeared in the Molly Maguires with Richard Harris and Sean Connery
